The brick laying is almost complete. It's great to see the house coming to life.
We chose the Topaz brick from the Austral Metropolis range and I really like how it looks so far. I think it will work really well with the grey accents on the gutters, downpipes and so on.
Hopefully my thoughts will be confirmed in the coming weeks!
It's been a bit of a wait for some progress on the house. We signed off on the final plans six odd weeks ago and just last week they drilled and did the piering.
Lets hope they manage to get the slab down before Christmas, but I won't be holding my breath.
It only took a day for the whole house to be cleaned up Unfortunately, our two beautiful cherry trees went with it.
Can't wait for the building to begin!
A Komatsu PC220 was in our front yard as I cruised by this morning. And a truck and dog parked across the street. I think the house will be flattened today!
Our place has officially become a construction zone. A fence has been erected and work has begun to remove the remains of our first home.
In other news, we have survived almost three weeks of living with my parents. They have embarked on a nine week SKI (spending kids inheritance) trip to Europe and South America, so my husband, daughter and I will have the place to ourselves. I will be partying as much as any woman in her third trimester of pregnancy looking after an almost 2 year old can do - which needless to say is not a lot.
